Public Accounts Committee presents Review Report on Performance Audit Reports

After the SecretaryGeneral of the National Assembly of Bhutan read out the Royal Kasho to hold the Joint Sitting of the Parliament, the Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), the Member of National Council from Paro, Hon’ble Ugyen Tshering presented the Committee’s Review Report on the Performance Audit Reports to the Joint Sitting of the Parliament today. The Report was presented in two parts: Part one on the Review Report of Performance Audit Reports and Part two on the Follow Up on the Implementation Status of the Resolutions. The Chairperson also submitted the Committee’s fifteen recommendations on the Performance Audit Report.
The five review reports were on:
1. Performance Audit Report on Housing Development -Adequacy and Affordability
2. Performance Audit Report on Food Self-sufficiency and Security
3. Review of Judiciary System and Practices
4. Performance Audit Report on Urban Planning and Development in Thimphu Throm
5. Performance Audit Report on the Road Maintenance Works
The second part of the report was on the follow-up report of the implementation status of the 2nd session of the Third Parliament with regard to Performance Audit Reports.
The House today deliberated on the follow-up report of the implementation status of the 2nd Session of the Third Parliament with regard to Performance Audit Reports and six recommendations of the Committee which were all endorsed.
The Joint Sitting of the Parliament will continue deliberation on the rest of the recommendations tomorrow.
